Characteristics such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance and high temperature strength are required for screw for plastic injection molding machine. Performance can charge greatly depending on resin. As for general-purpose plastics such as polyethylenes and polypropylenes, there is no corrosion or wear at all on the screw, the cylinder, and the mold. In other words, long enough life can be obtained by plating hard chrome to materials such as AISI D2, AISI 4140, SACM645 and AISI 440C.
Various molding materials with plastic magnet, ceramics, halogen or glass fiber added were introduced to remarkably improve characteristics such as heat resistance, high rigidity and flame resistance, etc. It has been long since engineering plastics came to be used for all fields such as automobiles, home electric equipment, precision machines, medical equipment and the optical field. On the other hand, such various additives cause on screw wear due to reinforced materials and corrosion due to gas generated from melted resin. So that screws, which are superior in corrosion resistance as well as wear resistance, are required now.
To meet such user's needs we present a KAM screw, a highly rigid type screw, with high corrosion resistance and wear resistance. The technology we developed through manufacturing of cutting tools over the past years, namely materials, heat treatment, precise machining, and surface treatment are all integrated in it.
